Russell George MS – the Shadow Minister for Business and Economy – has backed the call from the Welsh Retail Consortium for the Welsh Government to offer retailers certainty over when they can re-open.
Mr George said:
“Petrol stations, supermarkets, convenience stores, and garden centres have shown that the retail sector can implement – and that customers can respect – social distancing measures.
“Welsh Conservatives have called for the Welsh Government to do more to get businesses going again and to kick start the recovery.
"If the Labour-led Welsh Government can at least pencil in an opening date – rather than a woolly instruction to prepare for re-opening – and give the sector some certainty, it will give the shop owners a boost, give them confidence, and help our economy get back in gear.”
