Working with local residents Cllrs Vincent Bailey and Leighton Rowlands have been campaigning for a new playpark for the Buttrills estate.
Back in October the Labour-run Council claimed that the safety risks of the equipment at the Buttrills playpark were low to medium and that other play area locations are in greater need of work than this site.
After a campaign from residents, Vincent, Leighton, and Alun Cairns MP. The Vale Council has confirmed that the playpark will be included in the future phase of the environmental improvements. Planning for the replacement playpark at this location is currently underway.
Vincent and Leighton said, "this is great news for the local community, we were astonished that the Vale Labour-run council did not think this playpark was need of repair."
"We have long been campaigning to upgrade our playparks across Barry and only by re-electing us and a Conservative run council can we deliver on this promised and ensure this project gets complete."
Local MP Alun Cairns said “It goes to show what Conservative councillors can do for their community and only by reelecting Vincent and Leighton will residents in Dyfan continue to have councillors who really care about the community they serve.”
