Commenting on the flooding affecting parts of South Wales today, Shadow Environment Minister Andrew RT Davies said:
“The attention of the Welsh Labour-run Government has rightly been focused on Covid-19 for the past few months, but clearly it – and the Minister for Environment – have really taken their eye off the ball when it comes to flood mitigation and preparedness.
“The scenes we’re seeing in Rhondda Cynon Taf are absolutely heart-breaking, worsened by the fact that for some of these people, it’s the third time they’ve been flooded out this year. This on top of the worry over Covid is too much.
“So come on Minister: what are you going to do to tackle flooding, and when are you going to do it?
“The people of RCT and elsewhere can’t wait any longer.”
