Commenting on the announcement of the Welsh Labour-led Government’s latest support package for jobs and skills, the Shadow Minister for Finance, Nick Ramsay MS, said:
“Packages of support to help the economy and save jobs from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is something I certainly welcome.
“The UK Conservative Government has – and is still – dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s in its continued support for Wales. Funding from Westminster has enabled the Welsh Labour-led Government’s latest support package unveiled today - without it, this announcement would not have been possible.
“We Welsh Conservatives have been saying for weeks that this is an economic emergency as well as public health crisis, and as a result the UK Conservative Government is doing all it can to enable Wales’ economic recovery.”
The Shadow Minister for Skills, Suzy Davies MS, added:
“Investing to protect jobs and skills is absolutely crucial.
“Today’s announcement from the Welsh Labour-led Government comes weeks after the UK Conservative Government announced the ambitious Kickstart scheme, which will create more opportunities for young people, as well as many other historic support packages.
“Also of importance are the large funding announcements from the UK Conservative Government which have been crucial because ultimately it’s allowed the Welsh Labour-led Government to unveil its support packages, such as today’s.”
