Commenting on the scenes of littering in parts of Wales following mass gatherings, Welsh Conservative Andrew RT Davies MS said:
“We have all been shocked at the images of piles of rubbish, bottles, and much else left on some of our beaches and city centres. There can be no excuse for it: each of us must take personal responsibility for our actions. Put your rubbish in a bin, or if the bins are full, then take it home with you.”
Mr Davies, the Shadow Minister for Environment, said that with take-away only rules still applying, more bins and disposal points must be provided for people to dispose of their rubbish.
He added:
“Eat-in venues have the facilities to deal with waste on a larger scale, and when they get the much-awaited green light to re-open, I’d hope that this problem will end.
“It highlights what a difficult and often thankless task those in the waste and hospitality sectors do, so let’s give them a bit more recognition in future.”
