Commenting on the concerns of the Welsh tourism sector regarding the possible new strictions post the current Wales-wide lockdown, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Tourism and Covid-19 Recovery, Darren Millar MS, said:
"Businesses that rely on the visitor economy have been hit for six by the Welsh Government's lockdown and the travel restrictions that preceded it in many parts of Wales.
"Many are on their knees with jobs and livelihoods hanging by a thread.
"Without certainty over freedom to travel after this lockdown comes to an end, many business owners will simply throw in the towel and we will lose loyal visitors to other parts of the UK for good.
"Welsh Ministers must wake up to the gravity of this situation and throw these businesses a lifeline."
